Overview

The NYS Professional Pathways program enables high-skilled immigrants to overcome barriers to professional development through the screening, training and/or re- credentialing of participants and the identification of job placement opportunities for low-income immigrants in six regions of the state.

  • No, participation in the program is free for anyone who qualifies.

  • In order to quality for this program you must meet the following requirements:

    1. Have a visa or immigration status from the approved list
    2. Arrived in the US within the last 10 years
    3. Have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent
    4. Speak English at an intermediate or advanced level
    5. A resident of New York State 
    6. Meet income requirements
    • Personal advising from an experienced career coach
    • Online courses to improve U.S. workplace and job readiness skills
    • Training and certification opportunities in high-demand fields
    • Connections to employers
