• Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties

The Community Foundation is a community-based social impact investor with a mission to engage, invest, and lead. Through direct competitive grants and donor-advised funds, The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties has been a great partner in building a community of many cultures. In 2018, through donor-advised funds from M&T Partners Trust, The Center’s Cultural Competency Program was able to train more than seventy Utica Police Officers in cultural awareness. In previous years, the Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties has provided support for language assistance and strategic planning, and in 2013 assisted with the commissioning of the JZ Analytics study “Six Continents, One Hometown.”

  • Bank of Utica

The Bank of Utica has been a long time supporter of the Refugee Center’s programs and services, believing in our mission to build community with many cultures. Funding provided for the Welcome and Opportunity Center continues the bank’s tradition of being champions for Utica and the Mohawk Valley. “We diligently work to meet our customers' banking needs and, just as importantly, are loyal ambassadors of the Greater Utica area. From our change of seasons and proximity to either the beautiful Adirondacks or frenzied New York City, to our cultural diversity as a major immigration center with forty-three languages spoken by our school children, to our low cost of living and the great work ethic of our friendly people...to our myriad of ethnic restaurants and our unique Utica foods, to our many sites of historical interest and nationally significant parks and monuments, to our festivals and venues for family fun….we don't think you could find a more ideal place to work and live.”
