• Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties

    The Community Foundation is a community-based social impact investor with a mission to engage, invest, and lead. Through direct competitive grants and donor-advised funds, The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties has been a great partner in building a community of many cultures. In 2018, through donor-advised funds from M&T Partners Trust, The Center’s Cultural Competency Program was able to train more than seventy Utica Police Officers in cultural awareness. In previous years, the Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties has provided support for language assistance and strategic planning, and in 2013 assisted with the commissioning of the JZ Analytics study “Six Continents, One Hometown.”

  • Regional Economic Development Council

    MVRCR received Empire State Development funds through the Mohawk Valley Regional Economic Development Council to create a Welcome & Opportunity Training Center by renovating several areas of the agency. The Regional Economic Development Council initiative (REDC) is a key component of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo's transformative approach to State investment and economic development. In 2011, Governor Cuomo established 10 Regional Councils to develop long-term strategic plans for economic growth for their regions. The Councils are public-private partnerships made up of local experts and stakeholders from business, academia, local government, and non-governmental organizations. The Mohawk Valley Regional Economic Development Council (MVREDC) is the strategic economic advisory board for the greater Mohawk Valley Region.

  • Empire State Economic Development Fund

    MVRCR received Empire State Development funds through the Mohawk Valley Regional Economic Development Council to create a Welcome & Opportunity Training Center by renovating several areas of the agency. The Empire State Economic Development Fund (EDF) offers financial assistance for projects that promote New York State’s economic health by facilitating job creation and/or retention, or increased business activity in the state. The Empire State Economic Development Fund is flexible, providing a range of assistance to ensure that the state is meeting the diversity of business needs.

    EDF funds assist with, Construction, expansion and rehabilitation of facilities,
    Acquisition of machinery and equipment, Working capital, Training full-time, permanent employees.
