Medical & Court Interpretation Trainings Being Offered - Classes Start August 25th
Compass Interpreters at The Center is offering two certification courses for Utica-area interpreters.
The Court Interpretation Training is a 20 hour, ten-week course designed for beginning and intermediate level interpreters, as well as anyone aspiring to work in the legal field as a bilingual interpreter. The course will be held at The Center every Wednesday from 6-8pm, starting August 25th and ending October 27th, 2021. A certificate will be presented to those who complete all 10 classes.
The Medical Interpretation Training is a 40 hour, seven-week course which will be held at The Center every Saturday from 8am-2pm, starting September 11th and ending October 23rd, 2021. Students who pass the final exam with a score of 70% or higher will be presented with a certificate that does not expire and is widely accepted across the United States as the gold standard for medical interpreter training.
The registration fee for both courses is $250 for non-Compass Interpreters. Scholarship funding is available for Independent Contracted Compass Interpreters. Individual classes from the Court Interpretation Training cost $50 each.
