The Center Receives $25,000 from the Mohawk Valley COVID-19 Response Fund

The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, and the United Way of the Valley & Greater Utica Area, support The Center through a generous donation.

The Center would like to thank the Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, and the United Way of the Valley & Greater Utica Area, for their generous support of the Center’s efforts to serve diverse populations during the COVID-19 health crisis. The funding will be used to help support our efforts as we work with community partners to provide continued education and information regarding COVID-19, support community providers with language support through alternative delivery methods, including telemedicine, and consulting with local and county agencies to develop effective outreach. The agency has purchased 20 video tablets that are being distributed to local providers to assist with telemedicine appointments. In addition, staff are actively participating in video conference meetings to assist with developing strategies and creating/translating outreach materials to ensure that Speakers of Languages Other than English (ESOL) are actively included in prevention behaviors to limit the spread of COVID-19. We have translated several documents and resources that have been shared through social media and posted on our website. https://www.thecenterutica.org/community-resources/multilingual-materials/covid-19-information
